Ecosystems

One of the topics we learned about during our ecosystems unit is the food chain.  We played the Food Chain game so the students could see how the food chain really works.

Write a story

Until the end of the year we are making stories up, writing them down, and making a book out of the stories. We are actually putting them in a hard cover book. About 3 kids finished their sloppy copy already. Some kids are writing ultra long stories and others introduced the main character and got straight to the problem. I was one of  those who got straight to the point. Right now we are at the first part of the project.  The next step is to type it then we print it and cut it out.  Then we paste it in the book and then we illustrate it.

Fantastic Writing!!

Last week, our class started writing a fictional story.  Most kids wrote a lot.  For example, I wrote a story about a girl who loved horses.  My story was about 3 pages long.  But Olivia's story is about 5 pages long!  I don't know how she does it!  Almost the whole class is still working, but I know their stories are going to turn out great!!

Art

Today in art we finished our tiki masks by adding Modge Podge.  Modge Podge is a clear coat of paint that is used for sealing all of the clay and paint in.  The Modge Podge is shiny,smelly,and cool.  Next week in art we are going to start a project which is painting our own kings and queens.  We can't wait to start our kings and queens project!
